As an alumni at UPT Don't Come To This Campus!! 1) People will tell you that you will transfer after two years to main or branch. Nope!! To main campus in Pittsburgh you need 60 credits (Three-Years) Branch campuses require 40-45 credits upon good academic standing. Some way or some how the teachers or some administrator will mess that up for you. (This has happened to dozens of students in one academic year) 2) No drinking allowed! Yea right, if you look at the major articles you will find several accidents involving mace, rape, dope and the beating of a police officer. 3) Teachers will not work with you! 86% of the teachers have other classes to teach because UPT is short staffed. 4) No matter how good your grades are the "Vice President of Academic Affairs" will not let you transfer. If you do really poor your first term she tends to bring all that to others. I attended UPT since 2004 as an Pre-Education major, then found out that while attending UPT that it was impossible. I later switched to Arts and Sciences, that didnt get me far either. Out of the 156 credits I earned, 77 are no longer good. If you attend a community college prior to UPT they will tell you that only 30 will be good (I was later told by a Pitt-Main adviser that UPT is required to transfer 90 maximum! (I had 92) and needed to go into graduate school for my teaching. UPT is the only two year school within the Pitt system. Less students meant little or no time for campus meal serving. Less fines that go to the campus. No place to study on Saturdays. The library of all places will be closed on the weekends. So id be forced to drive home to Pittsburgh so I can have a peaceful study session. During midterms and finals UPT will enforce 22 quiet hours. Still that didn't keep people from partying and being loud. Boomers is where busy students would like to eat at. But not alot of available food selections. If you dont have flex bucks Dont go to Boomers! UPT is strict of the computer bandwith. If you go over 1GB (1,000MB) no warnings a $50 fine will be applied to you!!
