O, wow, this is really great, remembering all the fun, frolics, staying up late playing poker and pinnochle. and sometims drinking beer. Mostly we just studied and worked. I can't believe we actuaaly wore those black shoes and stockings. My most fond memories were the days to Penn State Ogontz, singing, studying and prparing for tests. We really did have fun, until we almost lost it all when one of the new Freshman class decided to report NEH to the state...probably for good reason but we almost did not graduate that year. I would love to hear from classmates. I now live in Florida in the largest ER in the county that I live in. I am divorced and never re-married. I keep in touch with Ginger and have heard from Liz Morris and Connie Kravitz. Remember our one and only reunion?

Hi Carol, You are right. Black stockings, black shoes and the starched uniforms from the laundry. Remember folding the aprons just right as people took a nap before class after working the night shift. Naive but hard working and resilent. How many ounces were in that bath tub on the second floor any way? We were the last class going through the old school ways. Everything was changing including the remodeled hospital. Class of 1966 Currently Business Manager for a Tribal Primary Care Clinic in Ninilchik, Alaska 40 miles across Cook Inlet from the snow capped volcano, Mt. Redoubt. It still puffs every so often.

How well I remember those halls, study times, hospital assignments at NEH, while a student nurse from 1965 thru' 1968. Our class was small enough to be close-knit and yet diverse enough to be well-rounded. WE learned the hard way how to become a nurse; we had class and worked on the floors and somehow found time to study, have fun, and date! Ms. Kinter was our class advisor and Dr. Silver our medical advisor; ALL the veteran NEH RNs as our BEST teachers on their floors. Our affiliations were: St.Christoper's/pediatric; Coatsville VA Hosp/psych; Penn State Ogontz 4 our sciences & and singing songs/acting silly while riding the "rented" bus to and fro; and all other experiences and teachings in the beloved walls of NEH... The fun times at the Aramingo Diner, Greenwood Dairies, K&A, riding the El from one end to the other and back again... the aroma of the pig factory... I am certain we drove "Mom" Adair crazy w/ our antics but no harm intended... "Girlie, don't make me come up there..." Some of us were lucky enough to stay in old Wilsey Hall for Freshman AND Sophomore years... "Big sisters" and "Little Sisters"... freshman orientation... the swimming pool... roller skating on the second floor made of hardwood was VERY noisy! No excuse for missing Mass or church services (a parish on every corner practically); always someplace to eat; learning about trolley trains; being homesick... Those times forever gone but never forgotten! Long live the class of 1968!

In the class of 1970-but tx to Episcopal after the big hit by the state. I think the class of 70 only numbered 3. Cynthis Szotek, Marion and sue Gwaltney-never saw those three after my freshamn year-what a learning experience. I particularly liked our Navy Capes with name embroidered on it. It still hangs in my closet.Learned alot Carol Huggins-your dad worked with mine at USS. What a formative year I had there!
