So all of you are saying that even if you carry a A average threw school you won't get a job in the feild you are studying for. I really don't want to have to pey that money for nothing either. So if you actually did do well in class and then tried to get a job and no matter what you can not find one for what you went for...please contact me I would really apreciate your opinions. Thank you

I am really seriouse about the diagnostic medical sonography program, but i dont want to invest my money into some hokes.can anyone tell me about the diagnostic medical sonography program? what kind of degree will i get once i graduate, will i be able to get hire in this field? i don't want to go into this and come out working as a receptionist at a clinic, I want to know if I will be certified and qualified to further my career outside of surrounding hospitals such as hamot or st vincents. I know it say i should ask the school directly, but I would like honest answers by students that has experience attending this institute rather than speaking to a spokes person with no intentions other than robbing me for my $$$. Thank you and I greatly appreciate it.

I am close to graduating from GLIT and, while I agree with the earlier posting about unusable equipment and a lot of down time, I think it was made quite clear to me BEFORE I began the program the it was a vet ASSISTANT program-not a vet TECHNICIAN program. That isn't difficult to decipher from the name. Any course or education is only as good as you make it. In my graduating class, there are only 5 (out of 31) students that maintain a 90% or above. The higher grade students put their all into it. The others didn't. If in a students' down time during school, they decide to socialize rather the take advantage of their education, then you should expect to only have the ability to answer phones in the reception area.

Do not go into the vet assistant program. its such a joke. i didnt learn hardly anything, the teacher hardly ever came to class and was on drugs half the time. also being a vet assistant doesnt mean anything you can walk off the street and apple for a job with that. Vet assistand IS NOT vet technician so dont waste your money. And none of the equipment even worked in there and there was a time during " class punishment" like little kids we had to read from the dictionary one word per person going around the room for an hour or 2. Such a joke. Not to mention i couldnt even get a job in this field from that school unless it was just answering phones at a clinic.

I graduated from great lakes for massage therapy and still do not have a job. It has been about 5 months. They are very unhelpful with job placement. Also recently heard that no veterinary offices will hire vet assistants from there.

Would like to hear comments on the job placement or students who had trouble getting a job after finishing sonography classes at Great Lakes. I talked to a few people at St Vincent's who would not hire students coming from that class. Good thing to know before choosing to go to GLIT.

I went to GLIT for Phlebotomy. We had a small class, only 5 of us. Well, out of the 5, only one got a job. I have been out of school for 6 months and still do not have a job as a phlebotomist. When I went to the GLIT for enrollment, I was told that there are so many jobs out here for phlebotomy & the hospitals really need them. Well, what they failed to to tell me was that everything is through ACL. All the phlebotomist in the hospitals & labs are all through ACL. I just got off the phone with the job coordinator & basically told good luck. I also found out shortly after I started my externship, that you don't need to go to school for phlebotomy, you can get on the job training. So, I have wasted my time & still have loans to pay back, & I work in a bakery! I am so disappointed with GLIT.
