As of today, 5/26/2010, I will be compleating my training at The Modern Welding School. The skills I have learned are certainly priceless and have put me in a very good job. But I could not rely on their "job placement assistance" or their "AWS and ASME certifications". There is no one there that is qualified by the AMS or the ASME to issue these certifications and out of hundreds of companies located within a 175mile radius do not even reconize these certifications. My job placement assistance consisted of a "director" named Jeff who just printed out Craigslist ad's and other job search engines. I will be filing a complaint with the New York State Board of Education due to the 1000 dollars that i was "charged" for my appearent job placement assistance as well as a "resume class" where I was told "If it takes you 5 pages to say everything you want to say, put it on there. Employers love to read all they can about you." I certianly wouldn't want to read 5 pages about someone who was going to be welding for me. As I said before the hands on welding and the instruction of the teachers was excellent and invaluable, leave out the extras though.
