Ok so this will not be a rant towards Metro but a rant towards the Student who had nothing but complaining to do. I attended Metro in 2008-2009 earned my degree and struggled doing so. I earned honest grades, was there everyday, worked a full time job, and paid my rent. If your upset with the codes and policies of the school may you should have thought about that before you attended. You say it is just like grade school or maybe JR. High, well news flash, they have all the same rules and regs. If you miss more school in a quarter than your suppose to geuss what, your letter grades start to drop, with or with out Dr.s notes. Been there done that. So applause to Cherri. If you didnt like the curricular why did you stay? You new what it was long before graduation date. You knew what it was before the first quarter was over, 1800 dollars out of your pocket wouldnt have been such a loss if you were that unhappy. From my time at Metro I never seen any favoritism nor did I see any one student get treated differently than the other. As far as the credits go, its made perfectly clear to you when you are in the enrollment process that credits do not transfer to ALL colleges, so again this sounds like your mistake. Pay a little more attention to detail and blame the true person at fault not the entire school who tried to help you. The placement program is awesome, I was given help to find a job 80 miles away. Cherri is an awesome person a great director and does what is needed. Basically what Im trying to say is the person to blame would be you the Grad, for not stepping up and making it work out for you. Metro gives all the help you can ask for, even after your gone and have been gone for over a year. Trust in this because Ive used to my advantage, thats what it is there for.

I do not know who this Stacy person is that so bad-mouthed Metro, but I thnk she needs to step back and take a look at herself. If she would have read all the polices and rules that are handed out at the very beginning (during orientation), she would have realized what could have happened. She thinks that she was not treated fairly, but she needs to think about the ones that were n class with her. Does she not realize how disruptive it is when people come to class late, or how hard it is to learn anything when we go over the same thing in class because some people are never there. After reading her comments I understand that, she evidently did not pay attention in class during Englsh or compositon because she wasn't able to write a proper letter. As far as the instructors, Dan, and Cheri...they are wonderful people and are there to help the ones that want to help themselves. I graduated in September 2010, stll do not have a job, but I am still looking and I am confident that I wll find a job. As far as Metro goes..it is a good school and it was a wonderful experience in my life.

I attended Metro in 2009 and 2010. I had a 4.0 which isn't hard to do with the sub par curriculum they offer. 4 quarters I carried a 4.0 and my children became ill during the last two quarters.although I did extra credit and by far exceeded most of my classmates work standards, turned in all my assignments on time and recieved A's from all my instructors......Cheri Chockley decided not to take into account and excuse my abscenses for the times I had to be with my sick children. I supplied Dr's notes and she still dropped my A's to D's at the end of the quarter. When i CONFRONTED HER ABOUT THE ISSUE SHE SAID SHE COULD HAVE FAILED ME AND THAT SHE did not have to excuse my abscence and that it was up to her if she was going to accept the Dr's notes or not........she obviously did not and therefore my transcripts now look really bad.how can she take away a grade that I earned and turn it into a grade that even the worst student could have obtained. They want to treat it like a job............where is my sick leave, my vacation, ect....i never seen any of that if it is supposed to be like a job.........what a joke Metro Business college is anyway.the Curriculum is juvenile and a 4th grader could do it.......not only is it not an effective college to train you for a desent job, but half of the classes we took in the 18 months repeated over and over..........classes were basically the same with different names attached to them.....If they would have been paying me I could have afforded to take my children, when they were sick to a sick child daycare.however I paid them to attend the college, a big mistake on my part, because like I said the materials covered in the college are 4th grade maybe into junior high but that is pushing it.......You Cheri Chockley should not have the ability to change a grade I earned and make it something a challenged person could obtain without effort.......this college is not worth attending and it is useless unless you need to learn access and excel.that is the only two classes I learned anything from and I could have took those classes for a lot less than I paid to go there. I know it sounds like babble, but all the efforts i have taken to ensure, even though i could not be in class, to get my assignment go above and beyond with them, and still turn the in on time if not early were overlooked and I feel that I have been robbed of 20,000 dollars and an education i was supposed to recieve from it, a smaller college does help but only if they have policies that are not totally stupid and unjust, oh yeah and if they were actually a college and offered a challenge with thier classes, no to mention being robbed of grades that you earned. And the job placement, or career counseling they say they help with is a joke as well, and honestly any one who i HAVE EVER SPOKEN TO ABOUT Metro thinks that the college is a joke and it is for slow people who can't make it in a real college.so my advice for any one who reads this is go to a REAL college and get a Real education not just a refresher course of middle school and junior high. Their credits only transfer to certain schools because of the accredidation, which must suck if they approved the cirriculum, most colleges won't accept even 1/4 of their credits so if you plan to continue your educatoin after metro, you are limited in where you can go and what you can do and how many credits will be able to transfer. Although I did recieve my diploma I am very disapointed with my education and have been long before this grade dispute, I just could not drop because I did not want to waste my money and have nothing to show for it, which is pretty much what I feel I have now...by the way there is a very high amount of favortism shown in the school as well.I hope this stops someone from making a big costly mistake, watch accredidation and school policies and do not jump in on a schools false promise such as a 80% job placement rate or whatever their little scheam is, a real college doesnt need a catchy tune to cover their inadequicies. College grad and I can't spell.............

I want to start by responding to the previous comment by saying if the education received by Metro Business College was that juvenile and for a 4th grader then why can't the previous person that commented spell????? Shouldn't that have been learned before you got to college? The spelling tests given at Metro are for the students that either did not pay attention in school OR got through school without learning to spell correctly! SO, you really shouldn't blame the college if you can't spell by the time you get to college or graduate from college!I personally went to Metro and have NOTHING but good things to say! I felt that I was treated kindly and equally to every other student there. I graduated with a 3.8 G.P.A. and earned every drop of it with dedication and hard work! I had perfect attendance for the first 3 quarters and then had personal problems in my life that caused me to miss some school! With work finished and still staying within the rules and policies that Metro puts into place for their students to prepare you for the working world, I was able to graduate with my class with no problems and keep my grades where they were before I missed any days! I was then placed in a very good job in Columbia, MO. before we even graduated! I was working part-time for the employer that Metro (Dan) hooked me up with and still going to school. After graduating from Metro I began working full-time for my new employer! A small college worked wonders for me! I have Mary Ann, Bruce, Cheri, Dan and the rest of Metro Business College to thank for giving me the opportunity to do something positive with my life!
