Wow! I attended Lincoln Tech at the Columbia, MD campus. I got a great education in the HVAC field with lots of hands on experience. We took field trips to local malls to tour their Central environmental plants. The testing was pretty comprehensive, I got my first set of HVAC tools including gauge manifold. The instructors were genuinely interested in making sure that you got a good hold on the theories and techniques involved. I am truly sorry to hear that they have lowered their academic standards as you say they have.

I agree Lincoln Tech should be avoided at all costs. I attended the Columbia MD campus for six months. The school is a complete joke. There is no set curriculum what so ever. The teachers are left to do whatever they want, which is usually watch You-tube videos while the class is left to do what ever they want. Half way through my electricity class a fellow student brought his car in because the dash lights were out. Upon inspection we found that the dimmer switch was turned all the way down!!!!! Not only did this student some how pass electric but is managing to pass every class since. The school will find a way to pass any and everyone to keep the checks rolling in regardless of whether or not they know anything. If you're thinking of going to LTI I suggest you ask around the field. Once a few real mechanics laugh in your face for mentioning LTI you'll know what the school is really about. I wish I had done more research but I'm glad i had my eyes opened before I was stuck with the full 27,000 loan. TOTAL SCAM!

I been student for 6 month, unfortunatelly has been a wasted of time and money, teachers all the time in their computers, few hands on, and in the shop many teachers are not there to explain, or they send you to read your notes, 4 hour class can be resume in 1 most of the time, very, very few good teachers. Every body talking all the time, and is almost $ 23,000 course.

What these people have said is true. Lincoln Tech is an absolute JOKE! I have been attending for 5 months now and have learned just about nothing. The teachers do not give notes, nor do they use books. They simply talk all day about their life experiences and hope that consumes most of the day. I'm taking classes for HVAC and have only gotten my hands on a condenser in the past 2 weeks! Half the time you sit in class talking to other students while the teacher either plays on the computer or walks to his car to fill up his coffee cup with booze. I'm not kidding. I bought 8 compesition notebooks to take notes and in 5 months have filled up half of one. Do NOT send your children to this school. Their resources are EXTREMELY limited (1 machine for every 8 students, not enough tools/parts). I was excited my first month and then all my enthusiasm was stripped away. They sell you the school extremely well and just take your money. I've seen auto students do oil changes and not put oil in the car for crying out loud. This school is a scam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My son attends Lincoln Tech as of now and is highly disappointed with the learning experience. We where under the impression that he would be getting the best training possible. Hands-on-training is the best training possible. Instead he sits in the class, he's in now and writes till his hand falls off for the entire length of the class. He does not have the desire and the enthusiastic attitude he had when he first started. He thinks about quitting all the time. All the money that has to be paid back and not even worth it. I would never recommend this school to anyone. The cafeteria being ripped out for the Nursing program is also a joke. Nowhere for the students to eat either. It is a complete joke of a school. Shame on Lincoln Tech for getting a kids hopes high and giving them nothing in return, except a loan to be paid back.
