Do not go to MSL. I went there and I am now settled with debt and little or no job prospects. Thank You Dean Velvel for screwing all of us.

I regret that I went to MSL. The comments from robert look like they were written by a faculty member. The grading curve eliminated possible job opportunities for me and a lot of my friends. I found out from a reliable source that they know the student papers that they are grading. I cannot endorse MSL.

As an alumnus, I did not really notice that the faculty was accesible to students. The library was in sad shape and the computers were always down. The prevailing attitude at MSL was that we should feel greatful because they gave us an opportunity at a legal education. I always felt that the people that should be greatful are those ridiculous faculty members that live off the tuition that every student provides. Dean Velvel and his wife always had new cars. The adjunct faculty members seemed to always be former students. So it was like the blind leading the blind.

I graudated from MSL and found both the adjunct and full time faculty members unapproachable. The facilities were substandard. I did not receive a quality education from MSL. Do not waste your money on MSL.

I attended MSL and didn't make the grade, mostly because I didn't apply myself as I should have. MSL did give me the opportunity to study law and it was totally my fault for screwing that opportunity up. At least they were willing to give me a shot which is the least I could say about ABA schools. From having spent a year at MSL, this is my rsponse to those with doubts. 1. The professors at MSL are accessible, especially the ones that are on campus full-time. The part-timers are bit more difficult to catch because they are practicing attorneys, but they are still approachable and accessible. Like at any school, ABA or not, you'll have great professors and not so great professors. 90% of the professors I had I found to be good or great. 2. The courses at MSL are the exact same courses taught at ABA schools. However, they may actually be a bit harder at MSL since the core courses such as Contracts, Torts, etc. are taught in one term rather two. 3. MSL has a tougher grading curve than many other ABA schools. They also curve down rather than up. 4. MSL has a functional and properly stocked library with everything you could possibly need for your studies. 5. From those that I went to school with, quite a few have passed the MA or CT Bar on their first try (something some ABA school graduates haven't been able to accomplish). 6. At MSL you get back what you put in without any biases sailing you through law school. If you study and work your tail off, you will succeed. If you don't, as I can attest to, you will not make the cut. It is a very simple concept. 7. MSL is a no frills, no bells and whistles, small law school with a small faculty and large mission; to give opportunities to those that normally wouldn't get them and to ease, if not end, the ABA's monopoly on the legal field. So, for those that complain, and moan, and groan about the inadequacies of MSL, give it a rest. Seriously, there are students that attend Ivy schools that are probably disgruntled with their school. You simply can't please all the people all of the times. For the others, don't knock it til you try it. Visit the school, talk to the students, talk to the professors, and see for yourself. If you are not prepared to work really, really, really hard in law school, don't even waste your time or money. I guarantee you will not make it at MSL. Hope the insight helps and best of luck.

The faculty were unapproachable and the education substandard. Dean Lawrence Velvel is out of touch wiht reality. The state needs to limit the amount of lawyers by requiring all schools to be ABA accredited. Massachusetts School of Law is an example as to why you there needs to be regulations in the education industry.

This school was a terrible school. I could not find a job even when the economy was great

Is it just me or is the post by "Rob" one that a professor or someone from the school post. The reason for this is that the steps taken to explain the schools action is reflective of how a professor or an adminstrative staff will list them. Sorry Rob, I do not for one feel that you ever attended MSL, rather, you are someone who works for MSL.
