Well I attend vatterott college now for IT and our teacher has been in the field for 25+ years. He also is certified in A+/NET+/MCSE and is in the process of getting his Cisco Certification which is one of the most respected certifications you can receive. One of the other teachers also is MSCE/A+/NET+ and also has been in the field for many years. The IT class has our own servers/network and we also have access to the entire schools network too. I just set a box up 2 days ago with NT. Last week I was pulled out of class to talk to someone that was looking for an entry level IT student to come to work and the pay was excellent and it was also not for a very respectable company here in wichita. I cant believe all the stuff said about it on here because I have had great teachers that have worked in the field and are certified in various operating systems. I have a friend that graduated from there and had is A+/Net+ right out of school with no problems. After he received those he got his MCSA, and had a job before he had even graduated from Vatterott. All I can say is the experience I have had out there has been nothing but good and the teachers I have are very qualified and have many contacts with local employers in town.

I agree that this school is a scam. I attended the first computer technology course offerd at the wichita campus and I still regret it. When I talked to the school counsler, she informed me that Vatterott was the only accreated school in the area for computer technology, the credits I recieved were transferable to other schools, "I had made sure of this because I had been attending W.S.U. and C.C.C ". I was also given a list of things that were included in the course such as tools, text-books, and even a PC. that we would be able to take home after the class. The instructors were certified professionals currently working in the feild, and She also talked about Job placement after completing the course and the current pay that a student was able to make after graduation... In my first class, I was pretty much the only student during the day for the first session. At the time I was thinking that it was because the school was pretty new and hey, you cant beat a one-on-one student teacher ratio. durring the second session of the class the school moved my schedule so that they could combine students to fill a class room. The instructer was a great guy and did what he could but he still WAS NOT certified, or even working in the feild. He was actually working in military reserve and had to leave the class for duty every once in a while. One time he had left, the dean of the school had told us that while the instructor was away, he would be receiving a certificate for training, he couldn't tell us what cert it was but pointed to what we were working on at the time which was an A+. When the instructor was gone, the school gave us a temp that also had NO CERTIFICATIONS, or didn't even work with computers...We got together and brought this to the deans attention and we were told that they were satisfied with his teaching credentials. The temp had to be the worst teacher known to man, he was actually backstabbing our instructor while he was away on duty telling us that he didn't know what he was doing..I remember the the temp had me take a dremmel and grind the face of an bios chip just to see what it looked like on the inside..needless to say, this new fill-in was not liked well by the students, we had to go to the dean once again and demand that we get a new teacher. After a few weeks of putting up with this guy we received another teacher and was told that we would not have to deal with the other guy again...... This temp was actually an engineer but had No computer experience, every thing he said came straight from the book and it was as if he was being paid to read to us. He himself admitted that he was not certified or even knew anything about computers, he was just being paid to teach ....We once again went to the dean with our concerns and were told they this guy was just filling in until they found the right instructor.. This lasted for about a month or so until our original instructor returned from duty. The new temp ended up teaching the evening class full time but was still Not Certified in ANYTHING.. When our instructor got back from duty, we asked him what certificate he received and he had no idea what we were talking about, it ends up the Dean had lied to us yet again. They even brought back the problem temp because he was a personal friend of the dean.. We had a few more instructors join the school and only ONE was Working on any kind of certificate. We never had a server two work with like stated in the class syllabus, we had to skip several chapters in the book because we didn't have the needed machines, or even current operating systems..I myself brought in a version of DOS so that we could get an actually hand on study of the of it...We brought up the fact that we didn't have Windows NT, Server or Client to work with and the dean told us that that was because local business didn't use them, instead they were switching to Win 2000,Server or client.....We later talked to a person on the accreditation board and found that to be another lie...... After more students started attending Vatterott, they were give the ability to TEST OUT of classes which could cut down the price of tuition...I myself could have tested out of at lest three courses because of previous knowledge and classes taken at other schools.. Close to graduation I was recommend by the dean for an internship working for one of the schools accreditation members. I was told face to face by the dean that this was going to be a paying position within the company and that I should show up dressed for an interview,it was going to open up doors for my future...The dean arraigned a meeting between the three of us in his office. After we talked for awhile and the accreditation member told me about what my job duties were to be, I asked him what the pay rate was. He then had a somewhat shocked look on his face and told me that it was a non-paying internship and began telling me what an internship actually was...I remember looking over at the deans face and he was acting as if nothing was ever said about pay....I declined the internship for ONE, I couldn't afford to work for free, and TWO, I was so mad about being lied to and made out to be a fool.. A week before the final exams every student in my class went into the deans office and demanded to know what was going to be done about everything that had happened throught the year, the non-certified instructors, lack of material, not having the ability to save money by test outs, etc.. The DEAN himself told every-one in the room that vatterott was just having a rough year seeing how it was a new campus and things were going to be made right to the students that stuck it out. On the day of the final exam we were told by an office assistant that the dean would be in to see us just as he said he would after the tests were completed. We finished the exams and had a staff member come into the class that walked us through filling out the exit papers..We sat in the class for an hour waiting for the dean but he never showed up. A few of us went right to the deans office and asked him when he had planned on showing up and his reply was,,,,FOR WHAT? We couldn't believe what we were hearing and reminded him about the talk we had the week before,,,WE WERE BRUSHED OFF YET AGAIN.... Several students talked about going to KAKE ON YOUR SIDE,and getting lawyers to fight this problem. I later ran into a fellow classmate and found out that some of the other students were given reductions in tuition because they had contacted lawyers, we decided to put our money together and try to do the same but found out that it was too late.. If anyone from my time at vatterott reads this and wants to try and fight back, mail me.. And if any-one you know is thinking about attending Vatterot, do as I do and tell them your story..From what Ive herd its still pretty much the same ...

Vatterott Wichita is currently engaged in a class action lawsuit. The lawyer for this and for the previous one mentioned is Joseph Cassell. Call them if you want to get in. The brief was filed 12-15-07, the class has been certified, this will be huge.

http://www.bizjournals.com/wichita/stories/2004/09/06/story4.html Two former students of Vatterott College are suing the school, saying the quality of education they received was so poor that they left without the basic knowledge to get even an entry-level job in their field. Anne Ciemny and Dayna Jaeckel studied computer programming at Vatterott, a trade school headquartered in St. Louis with 13 locations in the United States, including Wichita. Ciemny and Jaeckel filed the lawsuit against the college on Aug. 20, seeking $75,000 in damages. The former students claim in the lawsuit that the faculty, curriculum, job placement and equipment at Vatterott were far inferior to what they were told they would receive at the college. Erio Comici, administrator for Vatterott, says he's disappointed the dispute has gone to a lawsuit. Although he declined to give details, he says Ciemny and Jaeckel had previously expressed their problems and he thought the matter was resolved. "We had offered to do all kinds of things for them, and I thought they were satisfied," Comici says. He wouldn't specify what the school offered. "Our policy is to try to resolve these issues before they escalate. We operate on the basis of satisfied students. If our students aren't satisfied, we go out of business." False information? Ciemny and Jaeckel were enrolled for a 60-week period at Vatterott. Various written and oral representations were made by Vatterott regarding the quality of education they would receive and the skills they would leave with, according to the lawsuit. They claim that many of those representations were false and that Vatterott breached its contract with them, committed fraud and violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act. Included in those representations were descriptions about the type of faculty and materials that would be provided. Ciemny and Jaeckel claim that some of the faculty members were not qualified to instruct the curriculum, that many of the materials necessary for completion of the program were not provided and much of the equipment was broken. In addition, the women claim that placement rates and accreditation were, in part, based on false information. Don't go there. This school is a scam, and most everyone leaves there with just basic or no basic knowledge of the curriculum they just paid $20,000 to learn. FLY BY NIGHT OPERATION
