I attended this college, because I'd heard it was the Harvard of Mortuary schools. While it is a wonderful school, the curriculum mearly sets you up to pass the conference exam, not real life funeral home work. I was mildly dissapointed, and I admit, I was looking for more here. To gain admission to the school, one needs not do/know anything but write an essay of why they feel they'd be a good fit for mortuary science. I feel they are severely lacking in requirements for students, as many there are not serious, drop out, or do not end up staying in this field (faculty will tell you this in the first few days of school). Overall, could have been a better experience.

All students are required to have a few college level classes before attending... english, biology, etc. I graduated in 2004 (with an associates degree) and am still an employee in the funeral industry today. As far as the previous comment, the school can only teach you so much... it is your duty to go out and apply the skills you learned in class to real life situations. I had the benefit of being placed in a funeral home part-time during the school year, and I can tell you first hand that this experience was the most important part of my education. Some people go through mortuary school and graduate without ever having stepped into any type of REAL funeral work, and it is these people who usually don't stay in the business. If you are going to work for a family owned business of any type, you better be prepared to do some unattractive work such as cleaning toilets, mowing the lawn, washing cars, and being on-call. I enjoyed my year at worsham, the class size was small and the teachers were well versed in every subject. The tuition was affordable, and the overall experience was memorable. If anyone has reached this page while researching a career in the funeral industry and plan on attending Worsham or any othe mortuary college, take my advice and try to work or volunteer at a funeral home first... you may save yourself the trouble and tuition $$$!!!
