My girlfriend has been attending this school full time for two years now. You are told that you will make your own schedule beyond the first quarter. This is not the case. You can work with your counselor to try and figure a future plan, although they will not tell you the truth about scheduling because they do not know what classes will be offered when far enough in advance to actually help the students. For scheduling, you must drive to school at 6 am to stand in line for upwards of two hours to try to use one of their computers to try and register for the schedule you desire. Half the time you will wait in line for multiple hours before being told that the system is down and you need to fill out a piece of paper (handwritten) and submit this as your schedule request. There is no order whatsoever for scheduling, it is first come first serve. No matter what quarter of attendance you are in, you will not be able to register for classes earlier than the newer students. You may need three classes to finish your degree and if one of those classes fills up, your counselor (who is supposed to be there to help you) will say "it is what it is" and you will have to stay in school one more quarter to finish (and pay for that class yourself). This school makes outrageous classroom requirements so they can say they have high standards. You will have to make a 90% in multiple classes on a certain test or you will fail the class and have to pay out of pocket to retake it. This place is all about $$. They are out to get as much of it from you as they can. Find a better place to give your $$ too, preferably a not for profit public institution. Oh and by the way, they do not have real teachers at this school, they just pick up whatever vet tech off the street they can find. That is the way it seems anyway. These people charge you for admission, they make up some manuals for you to follow from, instead of actually getting in front of the class and writing it all down, they just make you pay for some crappy manual you do not need. The manual will not match most textbooks but will instead include anything this so called teach wants to put in it. This place is a joke. Had we known about these issues a year ago my girlfriend would be transferring somewhere that actually teaches their students instead of talking to them like they are idiots. STAY AWAY FROM BEL-REA, THE EDUCATION AND THE MANAGEMENT ARE A JOKE!!!

I have to disagree with Ryan on many points. I will be completing my second year at Bel-Rea and have received an amazing education. In respect to Ryan's g/f, I don't understand why she would have to wait an entire quarter to graduate because her classes didn't line up? I stayed on course, passing all classes and don't have to wait or have any conflict with graduating. (I'm curious if maybe she had to re-take a class because of test scores? that's the only reason this would be the case). The teachers do come from the field, but what's better? They have been out there and know what to teach and do a wonderful job at it. They are readily available outside of class and always willing to offer more help if a student is wise enough to ask for it. As for the required scores on certain tests? It's shocking at first but makes sense...like the medical math tests. You have to receive a 90% or better, but what that tells us, is if you apply this to the real world, they are still allowing you to "kill" 10 out of 100 of your patients because you didn't have the knowledge. I'm a strong advocate for requiring 100% on tests such as these. You should not be able to administer medication to a patient without complete knowledge of what you are doing. The labs and hands on experience you get at Bel-Rea is amazing and nowhere else can compare to the experience and knowledge you gain at Bel-Rea. I feel as though Ryan and his g/f are a bit bitter for some reason; and also I have never had a problem getting the classes I requested during registration. They offer morning and afternoon classes to help accomodate working students. I commute from Colorado Springs, have a full time job, and go to Bel-Rea full time and have responsibly managed all of this! I have nothing but praise for Bel-Rea and all it has done for me!
