I am trying to enroll in school for fall but I am being denied enrollment because American River put a hold on my records because they are saying that I owe for a loan way back about 15-20 yrs ago which I never took out. From what I have been told there is no such thing as an emergency book loan. I think they said it was for around $40 but the Financial Aid officer said he was increasing it to add so much each day it was due starting 15 -20 years ago which does not make sense. I wasn't sure who to contact within the school district so I'm going to take it to a lawyer. or City Hall beacuse I am an american citizen and I am being kept out of school or being prohibited from finishing up my degree for of fee I have never taken out or do not ever remember taking out 20 yrs ago, that does not make any sense. About 5 years ago I signed some papers for them and paid about &20 just so they could waive it but they put it back on again and the F.A. Director decided to then increase the amount.
