Well I have read the many comments on this site and have to agree with them all. I worked there. Those poor students. The Worse part of all: the people who worked on the bottom floor, the receptionists, bookstore, and maintenance, had to deal with it first hand and were caught in the middle. Being that they were pe-ons basically, they had no say in anything. And all the upstairs employees could screen their visits. With an exception to a few employees up there, they all dodged the students and didnt have the time to see them most of the time. It was like pulling teeth for these students to get any answers. And when they did, they were treated so disrespectfully. I seen the students pain. We would see first hand the students being promised one thing and the financial aid supervisor, accounting, and the president, would find loop holes not to keep those promises. Worst part is, if you wanted to keep your job, you had to have your employers back even though you knew it was morally wrong what they were doing to these students. So many politics at this place. So many people nice to your face, but turn around and talk about you as soon as you leave the room. Many of them I would hear talking so badly about the students and nothing was ever the employees fault. It was horrible for some employees that didn't want to take part in any of it and was basically considered the black sheep because of it. It was really sad when it came down to the students coming to school one day and the name and school they knew just magically disappeared. Why were so many employees hush hush to their beloved students if they put the students first? Doesn't make any sense. Yes the company may have changed hands but all the rude employees that really do not care about the students are all still there. Unfortantely the ones who cared and busted their butts for that place are gone. One by one they were layed off or fired and students were angry because those were the only friendly faces they would see there. What a shame! Students beware: Owners may have changed, but all the people who left you in the dark and treated you rudely are still there. Thank god there is a new President. She was 90% of all the complaints. Nevertheless, please proceed with caution!

How can Lake College still be on the 'net when they conked out? I was short of starting classes by one week when all of a sudden the owner packs up & leaves & staff is on the tv news complaining they haven't been paid in weeks. I called until their phone was disconnected. I'm not sure what happens to my money & the grant that was sent directly to them. Oh yea, another investor bought the college & changed the name & is letting the current students finish their course. I haven't been able to get ahold of anyone to find out about my situation. I believe what goes around comes around. The new owners say that the former staff pay issues is not their problem. I guess the students are not either. I am amazed how the accrediting agency doesn't do anything either. Does anyone know who else I can complain to? The state doesn't seem to care either.

lake college lake college I started attending lake college in oct. of 2007 I was told that I was sighning up for the MA program, and that I had to complete math english etc. before I would begin the course. Once it was time to begin the course i was told that they no longer offered that program and that I would have to do the cms and then the moad programs that would be equivelent to the ma program. when i started the cost for the ma program was about 12,000 including books. When it came time for graduation the cost had went up tp 18,000 with books. The school has recived about 28,000 for my education, of that I have recived about 7,000. The most upsetting part of this is that every employee at lake college has this hole positive attitude thing going on. Out of the many employees only two of them realy display and truly have there heart in it. As for the rest they are like a bunch of used car sales men that just wanna make a buck and sell you a line of just about anything you want you to hear to get you to sign the dotted line.!!!!!

What a joke this place is. I went for 10 weeks and I was to graduate in 15 and they kicked me out. They told me it was a waste to reapply and if I did I would have to pay more money. We paid cash up front. no grants- My class started with 12 people and when they kicked me out only 3 people remained and 1 woman that they were keeping in my class had not passed 1 test, she of course, is Federally funded, In my opinion, this is a racket for your money. I plan to start a class action lawsuit against this place. I was the Secretary of my class and the President and I addressed the concerns with the school Board and nothing changes there. They charge you by the hour so that tells you how often they kick people out. They told me that we have to perform chest xrays on one another and that if I did not take my blouse off and participate I would FLUNK THE COURSE. - I was only 17 at the time - what kind of sickos make threats to a 17 year old to take off their clothes. Well, Lake College that's who. I have seen the janitor have to answer phones on occassions, Now that not the impression you get from this fine web site they have set up or the tv ads or radio spots they run. The money spent and the education I got- NOT WORTH IT- I GOT SCREWED BIG TIME........
