I picked up an AA in Game Design here. It was somewhat early in that degree's birth. The majority of the classes were theory, but the nuts and bolts of every facet of design was covered and pretty damn fun. However that's not to say that it's useful straight out of the joint. It has to be backed up with something. However those that went on and got a BA and/or more seemed to have developed the right skills to go out there and make some games. So if you're looking to go....go all the way.

I go there currently as a grad student. I'm learning a LOT. And I'm a distance online student on the other side of the country! Good school.
